From a hefty handmade moc to a pair of buckle slip-ons

Ready to give your tired summer kicks a rest and start shopping for fall footwear? Yeah, we are too. Maybe this list will help get you going in the right direction. There are so many great shoes dropping these days, we thought we would pull a few of our current favorites to showcase. From a hefty handmade moc shoe and a pair of buckle slip-ons to an update on a classic sneaker, these are the shoes our team can't stop talking about.

Taylor Stitch is known for its sturdy outerwear and durable denim, which is why you shouldn't be surprised about the quality craftsmanship of their footwear. The waxed suede is thoughtfully sourced and is ready to be worn in any terrain no matter the season. Handmade in Mexico, the shoe is built to last a lifetime thanks to the Vibram lug sole, weather-resistant leather laces and a 100% resoleable Goodyear welt. Wear these with anything from a good pair of beat-up chinos to some relaxed-fitting corduroy pants—these will be the star of your entire fall kit.

Nike's latest design is a high energy hybrid combining both heritage and innovation. The new athletic sneaker fuses an upper from the beloved 2012 Flyknit Racer with the Air Max Pre-Day that was first introduced last year. The result is a stylish and highly-breathable shoe with springy comfort and performance. Rounding out the design are finishes like a chiseled heel, thin tube laces and Nike Grind outsoles.

The iconic Iron Ranger boot from Red Wing gets a new colorway in slate muleskinner. The six-inch boot features a leather toe cap, Goodyear welt construction, Puritan triple-stitch and brass hardware. The Vibram outsole also allows the boot to thrive in any cold-weather conditions. We've said it before, but a more refined version of menswear is currently permeating. Guys are once again after well-made items, and these boots personify that perfectly.

If you've been living under a rock the past few years, you might've missed that New Balance has been enjoying a stylish resurgence. Drawing inspiration from archival designs from the early aughts, they're giving throwback silhouettes a modern-day twist. The 2002R elevates a everyday style with premium suede and textiles, and the indigo colorway is subtle but eye-catching. Plus, the ABZORB cushioning and “Stability Web” technology provide the support and comfort New Balance is known for.

I'll always be a sucker for a beige suede pair of shoes. YMC has teamed up with Fracap once again to create these buckled slip-ons (which they're calling sandals). Crafted by hand in the brand's original home of Monterino, Italy, the shoes include a calf cuoio innersole, heavy-duty front buckle and taping detailing. These will look great with a contrasting denim-on-denim look or a soft-shoulder unstructured navy blazer—perhaps the one in our latest “Three Ways to Wear” series.
